  6. Swimming lessons: poem by gregory Harrison

The character in this poem is faced with swimming lessons each wednesday.

The character explains there feelings of the whole scenario and the reader can relate to it.

Repertision is used because the reader gets an understanding of how much the character hates swimming lessons.

my opinion is that the way the writter has wrote it was for it to remind us of the feelings we had when we did swimming lessons and the reader can somethimes relate to the character.

  7. The target: poem by Lvor Gurney

The charcter in this poem is faced with shotting a man, it was a situation were it was either the character or the enemy.

The charcter explains about the way that he is seconds away from death and that his mum worries at night for him, hopeing that he is still alive. like many parents or people who very close to any one who was at war would do the same thing and worry for them at night.

The writter uses the technique of telling a true story but also have all the feelings that everyone would have in that time, just about everyone could relate to it.

The poem doesn't really appeal to me because i perfer poems that don't have anything to do with death of any kind.
